Groups & Activities

At St Peter’s there are activities for people of all ages.  There are regular Curry Nights in Church – a chance to have a curry and beer and listen to someone speak about life and faith; (a premiership football scout, a military surgeon and a mountaineering instructor – all members of our Church family have been recent speakers).  There are also Ploughman’s suppers, walks, barn dances and much more besides…

Explorations Outings

The outings happen one afternoon a month from Spring to Autumn.  They enable people with restricted opportunities, to go out to a local place of interest with others for company and afternoon tea.

The Green Group

At St Peter’s we believe that a vital part of being a Christian is caring for the creation God has made.  The Green Group – which is part of the Buildings and Resources Action group at St Peter’s - has adopted the strapline “Caring for Creation” and our aim is to encourage all of us in the Church family to think through what this might mean for us.   As a group we have thought about our patterns of consumption and worked to identify ways that as a Church we might shrink our carbon footprint.  We aim to highlight the longer term need for a sustainable and responsible use of resources (for instance in areas such as the consumption of gas, electricity, modes of travel and recycling), provide relevant information and make appropriate recommendations for action to the PCC.

In cooperation with Oundle Town Council we are developing the churchyard of St Peter’s to be more wildlife friendly, both for flora and fauna.

We are really pleased that St Peter’s now has PV solar panels on the South Aisle roof  generating nearly half our annual electricity consumption.
