How we’re financed
At St Peter’s we are trying to be a church that is good news for our community – and also a church that speaks of God’s good news to our community. This makes for a busy Church life and lots of people (for instance 2 clergy, a youth worker and an administrator) and activity (youth cafés, toddler groups, clubs for older people, schools work, children’s groups…) to be funded. In addition we have the great privilege of meeting for worship in a very ancient and very beautiful building – a building that not only needs heating and lighting but also maintaining, preserving and enhancing for future generations. All this costs money!
The main way we seek to raise this money is through the generous committed regular financial giving of the Church family. We are also very grateful when from time to time we receive one-off donations from people who want to support us.

As a whole Church we also give financial support to other Christians working both locally and elsewhere in the world. Click here for more information about these ‘missions’. In addition throughout the year members of the church family often engage in extra fundraising activities (sponsored swims and walks and rides, cake bakes and the like) to raise income for these and other causes and needs that arise throughout the year.

This is a separate Charity, which exists to raise funds for the church building itself. To find out more about Friends of St Peters click here.
