Lynda's Farewell Service

The congregation at our Together@10:30 service yesterday (2nd October) said goodbye to Lynda.  It was a wonderful service and we gave thanks to God for Lynda and for all the gifts He has given her.

At the end of the service Lynda said goodbye to us all in her own unique way, buy singing us a song.  It is to the tune of Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah.

Words from Lynda's leaving song:

When I arrived three years ago, there was so much I didn't know
But you were all around to help me, weren't ya?
From Morning Prayer to Evensong
Messy Church, Communion
And with our lips we sing our Hallelujahs.

Hallelujah x 4

I've hatched, I've matched and sadly despatched
Precious moments hard to match
Sharing highs and lows of life together.
We've laughed, we've cried, we've hugged so tight
Trusting God with all our might
Together we all sing the Hallelujah.

Hallelujah x 4

And now my training's at an end
I've fair sent Stephen round the bend
I want you all to know how much I'll miss ya.
In peace, let's go to love and serve
But most of all enjoy the Lord
For he deserves our greatest Hallelujah!

Hallelujah x 8
